This session features the business and innovation leaders behind the corporate accelerators, the founders who have risen through their program—and notably, their partnership by which has foreseeable power and potential to transform three industries.
Created for a corporate and startup audience, attendees can expect to learn how to enter these partnerships, what factors make either an ideal partner, how to integrate ecosystems, and what happens after a successful incubation.

The systemic inequalities ushered to the forefront over the past year have pushed us to confront the racial divides in our society. The already existing economic challenges exasperated by the COVID-19 pandemic and social unrest have disproportionately impacted Black entrepreneurs, with an estimated 25 to 50 percent of Black-owned businesses closing since February. A strong and thriving Black-owned business community is essential to fueling the equality of opportunity. Companies of all sizes are now hyper aware of the need for ecosystem change and growth, and are ready to make large investments in supporting the Black-owned business ecosystem as an important part of ending race-based gaps and providing opportunities for all.

This session will look at how the private sector can help people, particularly with their emotional, mental, and financial needs and emergencies.

Speakers will talk through efforts to push circularity past this crucial tipping point and how it is already helping communities around the U.S.

Learn about how a first-of-its-kind partnership between Amazon and nonprofit Mary’s Place became even more life-saving than ever expected at the start of the pandemic. This session will look at a unique collaboration in the heart of Amazon’s Seattle headquarters, to support their neighbors in immediate need, and to help families transition out of homelessness.

Minneapolis was ground zero for the unrest and turmoil that began in May and subsequently swept into other communities. Since then the private sector, government and organizations in cities around the country have banded together to address systemic economic and racial inequities. They are committed to helping rebuild to be stronger than before, by listening, trusting leadership within the community, and addressing long-term systems changes. This session will profile how communities are charting their own resilient path into the future led by local voices and cross-sector collaborations, and powered by the strength and commitment of the business community.

In addition to the pandemic, economic distress, and discord on equity, unprecedented environmental disasters including wildfires and record storms have made a lasting mark on 2020. Communities are facing a new reality created by climate change as experts predict natural disasters will become more severe and more frequent. Louisiana experienced this in real time as an historic five named storms—including three hurricanes—made landfall this fall. This session will look at the increasing severity and frequency of disasters, their impact on distressed communities and what we can expect beyond 2020.
