Looking Back to Look Forward: Quantitative and Qualitative Reviews of the Past 20 Years of K-12 Education Assessment and Accountability Policy

The Report

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation is releasing its Looking Back to Look Forward report, the first comprehensive review of existing quantitative research and qualitative feedback on federal K-12 education policies from No Child Left Behind (NCLB) to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). This webinar will feature a panel of the report's authors and two members of our Future of Data Working Group and will discuss the report's findings and implications. The report emphasizes the importance of disaggregated data, transparency, and faithful implementation and also illuminates key questions that we are unable to answer, like if schools serving historically underserved students received more resources or how this money was spent.
