Gawain Patterson is a senior vice president at Citi, focused on its Action for Racial Equity, a flagship economic opportunity initiative that leverages business capabilities and resources to help address the racial wealth gap in the U.S. In his role, Gawain is responsible for driving overall strategy and tracking of commitments and partners with Public Affairs colleagues on communication. He serves on the leadership team of Citi Community Investing & Development (CID), a function within Citi Global Public Affairs that works to create positive societal impact in the communities where Citi operates.
Prior to his current position, he led organizational development, strategic planning and transformation efforts for CID. He has served in a variety of roles at Citi, including leading Citi’s annual corporate citizenship reporting as well as grants management and operations for the Citi Foundation. Before joining Citi in 2009, Gawain worked at a number of organizations in, and supporting, the nonprofit sector including LISC, as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Cashin Community Development Fellowship Program. He is also an alumnus of the Fellowship for Emerging Leaders in Public Service at NYU Wagner's Research Center for Leadership in Action. Gawain holds an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business and a BA from the University of Notre Dame.
