C.D. Glin is the Vice President, PepsiCo Foundation and Global Head of Philanthropy, PepsiCo. In this role, Glin leads the social- and community-driven impact efforts for the philanthropic arm of the company and a portfolio of global employee engagement programs designed to harness the expertise and passion of PepsiCo’s more than 290,000 employees to create positive, enduring change in communities around the world. Glin oversees the Foundation's strategic direction, leading internal and external engagement around The PepsiCo Foundation's three core pillars of creating equitable access to nutritious food, safe water, and economic opportunity.
Glin leads a multi-functional global team that works collaboratively with PepsiCo’s business units to identify and address the most pressing needs in the communities surrounding PepsiCo’s operations –including providing nutritious meals to food insecure communities through Food For Good, its global commitment to food security and nutrition, helping more than 59 million people around the world obtain safe water access, creating economic opportunity for Black and Hispanic communities, people and businesses in the United States and addressing inequality in underserved communities across the globe. Through the coordination of Foundation investments, employee pro-bono and volunteering efforts, and local business investments, The PepsiCo Foundation creates game-changing solutions that help communities thrive by providing grants to local non-profits, investing startup funding in breakthrough social enterprises, building cross-industry alliances to solve systemic issues, and catalyzing funding from like-minded organizations to enable the scaling of social impact investments.
Glin brings to this role global philanthropic and public service expertise fine-tuned by an extensive career and life experience in emerging markets. Prior to PepsiCo, Glin served as the President and CEO of the U.S. African Development Foundation, a philanthropic organization established by Congress as a federal government corporation. Further, as the former Associate Director of The Rockefeller Foundation based in Nairobi, Kenya, he managed day-to-day operations for initiatives focused on global agriculture, nutrition, and climate change resilience. As an appointee in the Obama Administration, he served as the first Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Global Partnerships for the Peace Corps and designed the agency’s initial Strategic Plan for Partnerships. Earlier, as Vice President for Business Development at PYXERA Global, a global non-profit, Glin pioneered innovative skill-based corporate and business school volunteer programs. Glin began his career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the first South African program during the transformational leadership of President Nelson Mandela.
In recognition of his professional experience and leadership, Glin served on the Foreign Assistance Agency Review Team for the 2008 Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Team and in 2011 was honored as a Champion of Change in Civic Engagement and International Service by the White House. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Carter Center, Board Director of Root Capital and Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Glin earned his Bachelor’s degree from Howard University in Washington, DC, a Masters-level diploma in Strategy and Innovation from the Said Business School at the University of Oxford in the UK and completed the Leadership for Senior Executives Program at Harvard Business School. He and his wife, Jacqueline, have three daughters.
