Matt Sample is currently SVP, Manufacturer, Quality, and Replenishment Operations for Cencora (Previously known as AmerisourceBergen Corporation). In this role, he leads the teams responsible for executing the inbound supply chain for a third of the United States Drug distribution: including inventory management, replenishment operations, US Quality & Regulatory compliance, Vendor and Product master data, product launch management, manufacturer vendor compliance, and lastly implementation of the DSCSA requirements across Cencora.

Matt was also responsible as the operations leader for Cencora’s COVID 19 therapy efforts, including acting as a liaison officer for the US Government’s Countermeasure Acceleration Group (CAG) / HCORE and has been involved in several supply chain industry partnerships.

Since joining AmerisourceBergen in 2014, Matt has held several roles with increasing responsibility. As VP, Manufacturer Operations, he was involved in exploring supply chain and DSCSA Blockchain use cases and one of the original members of the MediLedger project. As VP/Sr. Director, Secure Supply Chain, he managed an operations team that worked with various stakeholders to ensure that processes and tasks required to support the Drug Supply Chain Security Act are documented and clear demarcation of ownership exists to ensure continued compliance. And as Director, Secure Supply Chain, Matt drove the strategic planning and execution of the business program, developing the overall organizational impact and pr

ocess change/implementation effort, partnering with IT to ensure solutions are built and deployed successfully, and coordinating with pharmaceutical manufacturers on integration, serialization pilots, and labeling standards.

Prior to joining Cencora, Matt was employed at Forest Pharmaceuticals, GE Healthcare and PricewaterhouseCoopers, respectively.
