René O. Deida is the relationship manager for Prudential Workplace Solutions Group, Human Resources and Global Business and Technology Solutions. In his capacity, he works with the business units and corporate centers to develop effective strategies that address social needs and meet business objectives. Rene also leads the disaster relief strategy for the company. Prior to his current role, Rene was a program officer with The Prudential Foundation where he managed the youth development, civic leadership, and business alignment portfolios. Rene developed Prudential’s first international philanthropic strategy, a series of programs to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations, and co-created a board placement program for Prudential’s emerging leaders of diverse backgrounds.
Before joining Prudential, Rene worked in his native Puerto Rico in a community development initiative working in public housing projects. He was also the executive director of a multi-service nonprofit organization in Newark. Rene has served in a number of nonprofit boards and advisory councils and currently represents Prudential on the Council of NJ Grantmakers board.
Rene holds a BA and MPA from Rutgers University in Newark and is currently an Adjunct Professor on nonprofit management at Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration.
