The UPS Foundation
UPS and The UPS Foundation are committed to utilizing their global workforce and network to create a more equitable and sustainable world. UPS pledged one million employee volunteer service hours to support mentoring and educational programs in under-served Black communities globally, with The UPS Foundation allocating $3.2 million to fund organizations fighting racial injustice and advocating for change. In response to COVID-19, UPS directed $21 million to 300 relief agencies and distributed nearly 13 million pounds of PPE in the U.S. and more than 7 million pieces worldwide. The company launched several innovations that have made a life-saving impact including the world’s first medical drone partnership, which has delivered over 30,000 medicines and vaccines in Rwanda and Ghana. The company has a goal to reduce emissions by 12% across its ground operations by 2025. In 2019, UPS planted 2.8 million trees as part of its Global Forestry Initiative, surpassing the goal of planting 15 million trees by the end of 2020.
Resilience in a Box
Resilience in a Box is based on best practices and designed to educate newcomers on business resilience. Small businesses are both highly vulnerable and can be without adequate resources to focus on preparedness actions. These resources will guide companies toward addressing preparedness issues while building in flexibility to handle potential business interruptions.
The Resilience in a Box program is a collaborative partnership between The UPS Foundation, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the World Economic Forum (WEF), and the Disaster Resistant Business (DRB) Toolkit Workgroup.
Additional resources for disaster preparedness globally are complimentary to the Resilience in a Box tools. We are pleased to cross share this information as well to help support businesses around the world prepare and sustain should the next disaster disrupt their operations.
