Vivian López Núñez is a leading judicial figure in Paraguay, recognized for her contributions to legal modernization and gender equality. With more than 29 years in the judiciary, she is known as a trailblazer in the implementation of Paraguay's first electronic docketing system, revolutionizing case management and judicial transparency. A passionate advocate for women's rights, Vivian founded the Paraguayan Association of Women in Legal and Social Careers. During her 11 years as a sitting judge, Vivian has represented Paraguay in global legal discussions, including engagements with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and The Hague. In 2025, she became the first Paraguayan to be selected as a Yale World Fellow. That year, she completed her doctoral thesis on political questions in Paraguayan law, receiving her doctorate in legal sciences from Universidad Columbia del Paraguay.
