Markiyan Halabala is a judge at the High Anti -Corruption Court in Kyiv, Ukraine, a position he has held for seven years. Prior to joining the judiciary, Markiyan worked as an attorney -at-law, engaged in high -profile cases. He also served as a legal expert for international projects conducted by the OECD, European Union, and U.S. Agency for International Development. Markiyan was engaged in legal
representation of the Maidan victims, who suffered from police violence, before the International Criminal Court. Markiyan holds a master’s degree in law and a Ph.D. in criminal law and has taught at the Ukrainian Catholic University. He is an alumnus of the Open World Program, administered by the Open World Leadership Center at the U.S. Library of Congress, and studied anti-corruption management and operations at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
