Today it’s official: Pioneer Natural Resources Company is joining the ExxonMobil team. This is a very big deal for a handful of reasons, but here’s what you need to know right now: 🔴 Our combined acreage makes us the biggest player in the Permian Basin, the largest source of domestic energy supply. 🔴 We’re bringing together the best technologies AND operational excellence to increase the production from existing assets with greater efficiency. 🔴 The merger advances the energy transition, lowering both companies’ methane emissions and shortening timeline for Pioneer to hit net-zero target. We’ve been collaborating with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratories for decades on energy technology. Now, we're working together on biofuels as a solution to help reduce emissions on a global scale. At the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, we're testing ways to turn wood and agricultural waste into fuel that can power the car you're driving today. Watch this short video to learn more 🚗. #energytransition #energy #research

You're looking at our very first lithium appraisal well – it gathers information about underground reservoirs and samples the brine that might eventually become Mobil™ Lithium. But make no mistake: This ain't our first rodeo. This site in Arkansas is taking full advantage of technologies and processes we've relied on for decades. As a result, we have more lithium appraisal wells underway, which means we're one step closer to becoming a lithium supplier for the EV battery market by 2030. Greenhouse gas emissions need to be reduced. How? Tanya Vetter, vice president of Product Solutions strategy and planning, says through a diverse mix of technologies. EVs and hybrids are expected to make a positive impact, but it’s equally important we reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the hundreds of millions of cars, trucks, planes, ships and trains that currently run on liquid fuels. Which is why we need policy that encourages investments in all technologies to reduce emissions from these fleets. We need a new way of thinking about the entire transportation system: by considering the life cycle carbon intensity of fuels and how to make these vehicles operate more efficiently. Read more on what she thinks and share your thoughts.
Let's deliver reduced transportation emissions
