Laundry day just got easier thanks to a new product created by P&G innovator, Jack. Jack English says sometimes you need something a little extra to boost your regular laundry routine, so he and his team helped launch Downy Rinse & Refresh – a product that enables people to get better odor removal and cleaner laundry! “The issue with rinsing is that everybody knows they have to do it, but they don't think of it as a way to make progress today. And what we found is that by having products that are specifically designed for the rinse, we can create whole new mechanisms that allow people to get better performance than was ever possible with a detergent alone,” said English, who has been with P&G for 25 years. Oh, and if you happen to forget your laundry in the washer after it runs, Downy Rinse & Refresh will smell good even up to 24 hours later! Downy Rinse & Refresh goes in the softener dispenser of your washer and will dispense when your laundry is in the rinse stage of the cycle. Improving recycling systems can only be done through partnership across sectors. ♻️🤝 Juan Bonilla, Director, Personal Health Care Sustainability, is tackling the recyclability of small-format objects and packaging, from travel-sized bottles and toothbrushes to medicine bottles. While the material may indeed be recyclable, the facilities that recover them often lack the technology to appropriately capture and sort them. They can literally fall through the cracks. That’s why Juan and his team are working with The Sustainability Consortium to support research by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology that aims to keep small plastic products inside the recycling chain. The goal is to create a prototype sorting technology to bring to recycling facilities for large-scale testing and commercial development. “Our goal is to leverage P&G’s scale to collaborate with other companies to drive industry-wide, systemic solutions,” said Juan. Juan exemplifies the role of a sustainability champion, aligning with P&G's Ambition 2030 goals to invent and partner for a future where less is wasted and more is recycled. When we collaborate with partners, we enhance our ability to reach and serve more consumers and enrich the communities where our employees live and work. Thibaud's mental wellbeing philosophy is borrowed from the airlines: “You have to put the mask on yourself before helping anyone else. If you want to help others, you need to be OK first.” A Global Purchasing Director, Thibaud found himself in the middle of a mental health crisis with a relative. He needed to drop everything and be there for his family, and his manager didn’t give it a second thought. P&G's flexible working arrangements made it possible for Thibaud to be present for his family while maintaining his personal wellbeing.
