Elaine Kenig serves as the chief growth officer for Vanguard Charitable, one of the nation’s largest grantmakers and donor-advised fund sponsors. She leads the enterprise growth strategy, overseeing marketing and communications, consumer experience, innovation and product development, and analytics—shaping how donors and advisors engage with Vanguard Charitable and advance their philanthropic giving.
Elaine has a breadth of experience translating strategy into durable impact within mission-driven organizations. Her work focuses on driving growth that is disciplined, values-led, and evidence-based—balancing innovation with stewardship while preserving culture, credibility, and long-term trust in the charitable sector.
Previously, Elaine oversaw Vanguard Charitable’s private philanthropy group, partnering with some of the organization’s most generous donors on complex charitable strategies. She regularly engages with policymakers to advocate on behalf of donors and nonprofits, bringing the practitioner perspective to conversations on charitable policy and stewardship.
Elaine earned her bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University and her master’s degree in public administration from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. She holds the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation and resides outside of Philadelphia with her husband and three children.
