Carrie Speranza, CEM, is the Director of Emergency Management Solutions at Esri, where she sets global standards and best practices for geospatial science, data analytics, and artificial intelligence in emergency management. She is an industry expert and strategic advisor in disaster risk reduction, emergency management, and homeland security, with 20+ years of experience in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Ms. Speranza is a nationally recognized leader with a track record of motivating and implementing organizational change management and transformation. She is the first emergency manager in the U.S. to hold the positions of President of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), and Chair of the FEMA National Advisory Council (NAC). She is also the founder of National Emergency Management Awareness Month.
Ms. Speranza is a graduate of the National Emergency Management Executive Academy and, in 2021, was selected for IAEM-USA Region 3’s Top 40 Under 40. She received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Oregon State University and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from George Washington University.
