Develops, promulgates and evaluates effective programs to build community resilience and
preparedness through the Red Cross chapter network.
Oversees the Home Fire Campaign, which is credited with saving more than 2,500 lives in 11
years through reaching more than 5 million people with safety education and the installation of
more than 3.2 million smoke alarms. Coordinates development of plans, guidance, training,
reporting and continuous improvement of multi-million-dollar fire preparedness initiative in
more than 21,000 communities nationwide.
Develops, promulgates and evaluates effective programs to build community resilience and
preparedness through the Red Cross chapter network. Secured and managed Environmental
Defense Fund Fellow Energy Management Assessment.
Develops and implements systems to capture best practices and creative approaches to
resilience that exist in the chapter network. Ensures that those systems and best practices are
presented enterprise-wide to assist all chapters to meet community resiliency needs.
Represents Red Cross on community resilience and preparedness issues with senior officials of
federal and state governments as needed. Member, National Fire Protection Association
Educational Messaging Advisory Committee; Vision 20/20 Steering Committee; and Working
Group Member, Revisiting America Burning (Report of The National Commission on Fire
Prevention and Control) 2020.
