Speaker Bio
Jonathan Adell is the Grant Project Manager for Miami Tech Works, the workforce development initiative housed at Miami Dade College, where he designs and manages employer-connected learning programs that bridge the gap between student talent and industry demand in South Florida's growing tech ecosystem.

Jonathan leads the EPIC Innovation Challenge, a U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation-backed program that connects employer partners with student teams for structured 6-week project sprints tackling real business problems. Under his leadership, EPIC has scaled from a 7-employer, 28-student cohort in Fall 2025 — which closed with a 96% completion rate and a 9.7/10 employer NPS — to a 12-employer, 50+ student Spring 2026 cohort spanning industries from hospitality and construction to pre-seed tech startups, consulting, and municipal government.

A central focus of Jonathan's work is deepening community partnerships. He actively cultivates relationships with employers, educators, and community leaders to strengthen the tech talent pipeline in the region, with particular emphasis on partnerships that move students from classroom to career. This includes ongoing collaboration with the DeBruce Foundation — where Jonathan is a Certified Agilities Coach — to integrate transferable skills credentialing into work-based learning, and with platforms like Riipen to scale employer-student matching infrastructure. His outreach has expanded the partner network to include employers such as Marriott, City of Miami, YOTEL, AWS, and a growing roster of Miami-based startups and enterprise firms, while extending institutional partnerships to FIU, Barry University, and Broward-area organizations.

Before his current role, Jonathan served as Grant Coordinator for Miami Tech Works, managing grant logistics, planning, research, stakeholder communication, and compliance with local and federal guidelines. His background in strategic planning, security management, and stakeholder engagement positioned him to lead cross-functional workforce initiatives at scale. He holds an MBA from Florida International University and a BA in Human Resources Management from Miami Dade College.

With over 11 years of experience in higher education and workforce development, Jonathan is focused on building sustainable, employer-driven programs that give Miami Dade College students direct paths into tech careers while providing regional employers with a reliable pipeline of emerging talent.
