Jeremy Bird is the Deputy Chief Policy and Public Engagement Officer at Lyft. In this role, he led Lyft’s strategy behind California ballot proposition 22 which introduced historic new benefits through an independence plus benefits worker model. His team at Lyft includes government relations, public engagement and national policy engagement.
Prior to joining Lyft, Jeremy co-founded 270 Strategies, a political consulting firm, with a wide-ranging clientele including politicians such as Senator Cory Booker, Congresswoman Pramilia Jayapal, and Congresswoman Lauren Underwood. Before that, Jeremy served as the National Field Director for Barack Obama’s re-election campaign (2012) after being promoted from the OH Field Director during Obama’s first election campaign (2008).
Originally from Missouri, Jeremy attended Wabash college majoring in Religion before earning a Masters of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School. Jeremy now lives in Oakland, California with his wife and three young children.
