Feng Hou is the Co-Founder and CEO of Pistis.io Inc, a blockchain platform service. He also serves as the Chief Digital Transformation Evangelist at Maryville University in St. Louis and teaches a graduate level course Blockchain for Data Science. Hou is a leading blockchain expert in education and senior executive with more than 20 years’ leadership and digital transformation experience. Hou believes higher education needs to adopt a blockchain first strategy and a new way of blockchain thinking.

As an award winning CIO, Hou has led the blockchain initiative to successfully implement a student owned digital credentialing solution at Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). Hou has created another national first recently by implementing nation’s first blockchain transcript solution at Maryville University. Building upon the successful experience, Hou has been working on a number of blockchain use cases from creating a universal decentralized ID, using smart contract to automate business processes, as well as building a digital portfolio on blockchain.

Hou is a nationally sought after keynote speaker. Hou has recently keynoted at U.S. Blockchain Chamber of Commerce Education Annual Event; he gave a formal presentation at the T3 Innovation Network under the U.S. Department of Commerce; he also delivered a keynote address at Blockchain in Education Conference in Washington DC; he gave another keynote speech at INTERFACE – New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. Hou has also collaborated with IBM, National Student Clearinghouse to build the global blockchain education platform.

As the leading blockchain expert in US, Hou frequently speaks about the major impact of blockchain technology on education reform, cybersecurity enhancement as well as industry transformation. He has been invited to the White House to discuss advanced technologies and STEM education; he also hosted a roundtable discussion with the university and college presidents at the Higher Education Congress Annual Meeting in Washington DC. Hou has developed the widely adopted 7 criteria for selecting the right blockchain solutions that has recently been published in Business Officer Magazine; Hou also has 2 US Patents pending.

Hou currently serves as the Education Vertical Chair of Blockchain Chamber of Commerce, co-chair of Sovrin Ecosystem Governance Framework Taskforce; he is the Founding Chair of Education (Blockchain) Architecture Special Interest Group at Hyperledger Community under Linux Foundation and the Co-founder of Albuquerque Blockchain Alliance (ABA). He was twice elected as the President of Florida Association of Educational Data Systems (FAEDS), and served on the National Reviewing Board for the Blockchain Certificate Exam.
