Mark Leuba is Vice President for IMS Global Learning Consortium, the non-profit organization dedicated to lifelong learning interoperability and comprised of 570+ member organizations that envision and jointly develop foundational standards for the efficient and scalable exchange of learning and skills- related data between people, software systems and organizations. As a learning-technology executive and strategist, Mark is passionate about competency-based education (CBE) and its potential to improve outcomes for all, and since 2015 he has led important related innovations at IMS such as the Comprehensive Learner Record (CLR), Open Badges and CASE, the Competency and Academic Standards Exchange. Skilled in product visioning and leadership to achieve strategic goals, Mr. Leuba’s credo is ‘collaboration toward a purpose’.
Mark's role in IMS Global is to guide product management strategy and execution, building upon the already substantial successes of the IMS team. Prior to joining IMS, Mark was VP of Application Systems at Random House publishing, SVP and Chief Information Officer for American Public University System (APUS), CTO for Moodlerooms and managing partner for Pathway Technology Partners, an ed-tech consultancy. Mark received his B.A. in Business Administration/Finance from the University of Baltimore.
