Shamarukh Mohiuddin is an expert in catalyzing cross-sector partnerships for development and equipping businesses to be drivers and advocates for inclusive and sustainable growth. In her role as Principal Associate at Nathan Associates, a global consulting firm focused on international development, she advises the US government on trade and development policy in the Asia Pacific, South Asia and the Middle East with a focus on regional integration and sustainable economic growth. In this role she also leads efforts on women’s economic empowerment and leverages development resources from the private sector for capacity building activities for women’s entrepreneurship and skill development. Shamarukh has also advised Fortune 500 companies and global foundations on their social impact efforts.

Shamarukh has served on the Board of Directors of the nonprofit, Women Forward International, and as Co-Chair of the Society for International Development (SID). Previously, Ms. Mohiuddin served as the Director of Economic Empowerment at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, as Senior Advisor at WEConnect International and a Co-Chair at Women in International Trade (WIIT). She also served previously as Executive Director of the U.S. Bangladesh Advisory Council and as Director at Fontheim International and at GlobalWorks Foundation. She also founded a nonprofit, Lift Up Asia, to support garment workers across Asia. Ms. Mohiuddin holds an M.A. in International Relations and South Asia Studies from Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She speaks Bengali, English and intermediate French and Hindi.
