Speaker Bio
Sohee Chu is the Chief Innovation Officer of AITHERAS, LLC, a technology consulting firm in the DC metropolitan area supporting 113+ federal and commercial clients with their digital transformation needs.
Sohee is passionate about the design thinking process and its practical application to transform complex challenges into user-friendly products and brands. She began her career as a visual designer, devoting herself to a social impact engagement to bring awareness and prevention of domestic violence against women and children in Africa. The resulting product was an easy to use and colorful resource guide that is still in use 20 years later. Sohee expanded her design expertise to include innovation, marketing, and communication strategy as she worked with myriad organizations whose requirements elevated beyond just good design, to creative strategy in expanding a simple idea to a measurable and scalable impact.
Sohee’s 20 years of experience accelerating innovation and growth for start-ups, NGOs, and Fortune 500 companies such as Marriott, DuPont, and Eastman have yielded meaningful and lasting impacts. She has worked on AI-driven interfaces to track cancer treatments in CT scans; to increase awareness to the Bolivian children of the street; to draw attention to the plight of women who have suffered domestic violence, homelessness, substance abuse, and/or incarceration for Women In Need (WIN) Hawaii; to garner participation and support for March for Humanity for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Change (King Center); and elevate the mission of Bambeco, a retail company with sustainable and eco-friendly home goods. In addition, Sohee serves as a strategic innovation advisor to Tribal Planet, a social impact technology company in Silicon Valley, and Teach the World Foundation, an NGO dedicated to expanding global literacy through technology.
