Shane Karr was appointed senior vice president, public affairs, Stellantis North America in 2022. Karr’s team provides strategic direction and advocacy on public policy issues impacting automotive manufacturing and sales at all levels of government in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Karr also leads the company’s site selection efforts, including securing economic incentives and other financial resources to support major capital investments.
The son of a U.S. Air Force veteran, Karr serves as executive co-sponsor of the Stellantis Veterans Group, one of 11 Stellantis business resource groups in the United States.
Prior to joining the company in 2015 as vice president of U.S. external affairs., Karr was vice president of federal government affairs for the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, a former trade association based in Washington, D.C. In this role, he represented the Alliance before Congress, the White House and federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Transportation, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Karr has also held senior positions at the U.S. Department of Transportation and served as a staff member in the U.S. House of Representatives.
