Whitney Harmel is the Executive Vice President of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and Executive Director of the Maryland Chamber Foundation. She leads membership development, fundraising, and strategic partnerships while overseeing initiatives that connect businesses, policymakers, and communities to strengthen Maryland’s economy.

With two decades of experience in business development, sales, and partnerships, and nearly eight years at the Chamber, Whitney has developed a deep appreciation for the role job creators play in driving Maryland’s prosperity. She has been instrumental in launching statewide initiatives such as the National Civics Bee® and in securing bold partnerships that amplify the Chamber’s advocacy and impact.

An active community leader, Whitney proudly served on United Way of Central Maryland Board for seven years, contributing to its 100th anniversary campaign and public policy committees. A proud Virginia Tech alum with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Whitney brings curiosity, energy, and a global perspective to both her professional work and her love of travel and adventure.
