Shakira Smiler is the Manager of Community Programs – Career Pathways for the Best Buy Social Impact Team. In her role, Shakira works collaboratively across multiple stakeholders to bring structured, short and/or long-term skills development workshops, mentorship, scholarships, and paid internship opportunities to youth across the national Best Buy Teen Tech Center network.

Shakira began her career in student affairs/higher education and has a background in volunteer engagement, internship program management, student career development, and non-profit leadership. She completed a master’s degree in College Student Affairs Administration from the University of Georgia and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.

A native of Detroit, Shakira currently resides in the Washington D.C. Metro area.
