Pam Long, the owner of Pam Long Photography, is the recipient of numerous honors and awards for both her professional, philanthropic, and community work. She was named Howard County’s Best Photographer by the readers of Howard Magazine, and was the recipient of the inaugural Impact Award from the Howard County Chamber of Commerce.

Pam Long Photography was founded in 2007 and has been headquartered on Ellicott City’s historic Main Street since 2012. Pam specializes in providing an exceptional experience for her clients while creating headshots, personal and corporate branding, and portraiture for high school seniors and families. Pam’s client list has included County Executives, County Council members, and a wide array of leaders in the mid-Atlantic region.

While many people are often apprehensive about sitting down in front of the camera, Pam’s known for having just that right approach to make them feel relaxed and confident when the shutter clicks. She has the profound ability to truly capture the unique personality of each of her subjects while keeping the experience fun and enjoyable.
Whether it’s in the studio or on location, photographing a family or a corporate leader, Pam creates portraits that are enjoyed for generations to come. Her branding photography gives businesses the unique and professional visual it deserves.

Like many small business owners Pam willingly and generously donates her time and professional services to numerous charitable efforts throughout the year. She has organized a network of community advocates who collaboratively develop and execute innovative and independent fundraisers for worthy non-profits in the region.

Pam is a board member of the Ellicott City Partnership and a former board member of the Maryland Professional Photographers Association. Her work as a photographer has been recognized for its excellence by the Professional Photographers of America, which is considered the gold standard of the industry.

After the horrific and deadly floods of 2016 and 2018 that devastated Ellicott City’s Main Street, Pam was a leader in the cleanup, advocacy and revival of the beloved and historic town. She worked tirelessly to record the process, perseverance, and personality of Historic Ellicott City and it’s people who work, live, and visit there. She produced videos and photos from the scene, documenting the experience and sharing it with all. She was able to illustrate the purpose and importance of the town by focusing on the people and their efforts. Yes, Ellicott City is charming and historic, but Pam has always believed it’s the people who continue to put the beautiful town on the map.

“Each Ellicott City business that suffered through the 2016 and 2018 floods will always remember the immeasurable generosity and support from so many in our region. Together, with their help, we were able to rebuild a stronger commUNITY each time,” says Pam. “It was a lesson in values that reminds me every day that we can be a powerful force for the betterment of our community when we work together. While as a business person I want to excel at my craft and deliver an exceptional experience to my clients, I am reminded that most often my greatest contribution is what I give back to my community.”
