Eric is the Director of Policy for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA). Eric is a dedicated civil servant committed to ensuring that America’s 32.5 million small businesses as well as countless homeowners and renters can access the recovery and mitigation resources, they need to rebuild stronger, smarter, and more resilient.
Eric has spent more than 15 years in disaster recovery. He has worked in various roles in ODA responding to many of the country’s most devasting and costly disasters, including: Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma (2005); Greensburg, Kansas Tornado (2007); Iowa Floods and Hurricanes Gustav and Ike (2008); BP Oil Spill (2010); Joplin, Missouri Tornado (2011); Hurricane Sandy (2012); Louisiana Floods (2016); Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria (2017); and Hurricanes Michael and Florence, and the California Wildfires (2018). As well as the 2020 COVID pandemic.
Eric earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Texas A&M University.
