Stacy O’Mara manages government affairs for Mandiant. In this role, Ms. O’Mara advocates for federal funding and federal and global policy to directly support the company’s programs and initiatives. On behalf of Mandiant, Ms. O’Mara serves as a trusted advisor, working with policymakers on a broad range of cyber security issues, such as cyber incident reporting, ransomware, U.S. defense in response to foreign hacking, U.S. posture in cyberspace, capacity building, and deterrence.

Prior to her work at Mandiant (formerly FireEye), Ms. O’Mara spent the past 20 years of her career performing a variety of congressional, policy and public relations functions in the areas of Cyber Security, Homeland Security, and Defense. Example agencies include the Global Power Directorate and Space Programs at the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition and the Defense Science Board at the Department of Defense; the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services at the Department of Homeland Security; and the Office of Information Technology Category, Federal Acquisition Service at the General Services Administration.

Ms. O’Mara has also served as a research analyst on Capitol Hill for the House Veteran’s Affairs Committee, and as a congressional analyst for Bloomberg Government.

Ms. O’Mara holds an executive master’s degree in Cybersecurity from Brown University, a master’s degree in Public Policy from George Mason University, and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Virginia Tech.
