National Security Council
Jim Thompson is the Director of Partnerships and Global Engagement in the National Security Council. Jim has over 30 years of federal executive leadership previously serving as the Director of Innovation and Director for Private Sector Engagement at the Secretary of State’s Office for Global Partnerships. He also served as a Director of Partnerships in President Obama’s National Security Council, and with the U.S. Agency for International Development and the U.S. Department of Energy. He has B.A. in international relations from Saint Joseph’s University, and an M.A. in Political Studies from the University of Auckland. Jim lives with his husband and their three sons in Washington, D.C.
